Human Mental Disorders DNA Methylation PCR Array: EAHS-601Z |
|
| The Human Mental Disorders EpiTect Methyl II Signature PCR Array profiles the promoter methylation status of a panel of 22 genes experimentally identified as hypermethylated or hypomethylated in neurodegenerative or psychiatric disorders. Inheritance or accumulation of aberrant genomic DNA methylation epigenetically represses the expression of genes, disrupting normal biological processes. This array includes genes differentially regulated at an epigenetic level in the inborn and acquired mental disorders of Alzheimer’s disease, schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, autism, and alcoholism. Profiling research samples containing genomic DNA from cellular or fresh tissue with this array may help correlate CpG island methylation status with the corresponding biological phenotypes. The results may also help provide further insights into the molecular mechanisms and biological pathways behind these mental disorders. With a simple restriction enzyme digestion and real-time PCR, research studies can analyze the promoter methylation status of 22 different genes involved in mental disorders with this DNA methylation PCR array. The EpiTect Methyl Signature qPCR Arrays are intended for molecular biology applications. This product is not intended for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of a disease. Both 96-well and 384-well ( 4 X 96 ) formats are available. The EpiTect Methyl II PCR Arrays use the MethylScreen™ Technology provided under license from Orion Genomics, LLC. |
